Grammar A/B/C
Our Grammar level is broken up to better accommodate the ages and learning planes of the children.
-Grammar A meets the needs of children ages 5-7.
-Grammar B meets the needs of children ages 7-9.
-Grammar C meets the needs of children ages 10-12.
In Grammar A/B/C classrooms the class leaders cover memory work from the tour guide by various methods such as fun work-sheets, engaging games and hands-on activities. The children also have thirty-minute blocks of uninterrupted time for hands on art and science lesson given by art and science leaders, who have prepared for these projects and experiments. Children in the grammar level are highly encouraged to complete quarterly presentations to work on speaking skills such as, eye contact, articulation, impromptu speeches, time management, body gestures, body movement, and so much more.
It is a parents role in Catholic Schoolhouse to observe their Grammar level child in class and offer a helping hand where needed throughout the whole program. Throughout the week the parents may choose to use the Tour Guide, history timeline cards, memory work songs, and helpful extension works and ideas found in basecamp to help further mastery in the tour memory work. It really is that flexible.
Our goal is to be intentional in creating a Catholic culture in our community. Therefore, the children are involved in morning prayer and end of day prayer. They learn and are encouraged frequently to practice virtue. We have an optional Mass at the end of our chapter day. Also, we host an All-Saints Day during chapter day to encourage learning about our saints.
